VIEW IN MY ROOM
The father and son pair of Kangaroos are sculpt from iron-rich clay and painted with several layers of acrylic paint. Kangaroos form strong family ties and are always on alert for danger. I was inspired to put sunglasses on these characters when I saw a photograph of Dame Elizabeth Frink's 1969 'Goggle_Head' sculpture.

I’m an artist living on the Sunshine Coast, Australia. I work in several mediums. Sculpture, painting, ceramics, and photography. I was born to an English father and Chinese-Malaysian mother, and spent my childhood travelling throughout Europe and Asia. As well as being influenced by my environment; my memories of the past and what innately lies within me, infuse and reflect my work. I strive to capture the essence of the subject and combine abstract concepts with ‘moments in life’. The use of narrative is evident in my works, evoking a mood to each art piece. I like to portray a sense of drama, be it subtle or strong, ancient or present, a cultural mix – a hybrid of all.
