Beso rechazado Sculpture - Limited Edition of 10

*Rejected Kiss* is a sculpture that seeks to capture the fragility of a failed encounter, the moment when a gesture of love falls apart before it can be realized. In creating it, I focused on expressing the tension that exists when two energies are about to connect but never quite meet. The curved and circular forms rising and intertwining at the top symbolize that initial closeness between two beings, the almost inevitable attempt of a kiss. Yet, the fluidity of the lines breaks, the curves twist and separate, making it clear that the gesture will not be completed. The figures seem to approach each other, but their paths diverge, representing the rejection and the impossibility of union. I wanted the piece to evoke a sense of continuous movement, but one that is ultimately incomplete. The stable base contrasts with the upper forms, which appear to twist and struggle to maintain a balance they can never achieve. This contrast symbolizes the emotional imbalance created by rejection: a firm foundation of intent met with the instability of the response. The dark metallic finish, as in my other works, adds a coldness that reinforces the feeling of distance and emotional emptiness. *Rejected Kiss* is an exploration of the vulnerability and pain that arises when an act of affection is abruptly halted, leaving us with the sensation of what could have been but never was.
