My latest Sculpture relief "Birch with Green Leaves" further explores organic shapes. The never ending inspiration I get from nature is being celebrated in this work. I take discarded pine 2X4 left behind in the wood studio and I transform them into magnificent birch trees. Each tree branch and trunk is hand carved and shaped into the various forms some with large knots other with carved branches. I have introduced colored glass as well as wood leaves for a color radiating effect. Everything is then assembled glued and brad nailed into place on a hand stained and painted back board. This piece has all mounting hardware installed.
