BIRDIE is a duck who's hoping to fly better with the addition of a toy plane propeller. He is actually more adept on water since his awkward feet weigh him down. His bill, of which he’s very proud, is made from a fancy cigarette holder that sports a lizard he's unable to eat. He’s calls himself Birdie because he’s operating under the misperception that he’s made from a badminton racket – poor birdie! He's one of my favorite "racket" works, I hope you love him as much as I do. BIRDIE is made from a wooden tennis racket, a vintage wooden bird, a carved stone cigarette holder, a wooden model plane propeller, shoe stretchers, and hardware thoughtfully cobbled together by hand.
