About The Artwork
This assemblage of angle cut vintage boxes was inspired by the Russian artist Kasimir Malevich, an avant guard pioneer of the abstract movement. His intention was, by elimination of all subjectivity , to access the " supremacy of pure feeling." The cut boxes are resting in a shallow pool of red resin in the bottom half of the piece. The shimmer of the resin is in an intrigueing contrast to the hard lines of the angles.

I spent every summer of my youth on the shores of Bois Blanc Island, a pristine jewel that would eventually inform and inspire my work.
