Filigree plain sculpture in papier mache /mixed media with sitting on a stack of suitcases. A monochrome sculpture with pants and jacket. One of a kind Artwork. Oiled oak base. Title: waiting for... The figure has an interesting textured surface. The suitcase is "worn out" The person has been traveling for a while. "I'm packing my suitcase and taking with me..." We imaginatively assemble our travel utensils in this old children's game. What do we come up with? As we prepare to travel, we are drawn to the foreign, and at the same time we desire something familiar far from home. Saying goodbye and arriving. Private things find their way into the suitcase, a talisman, a favorite pillow ... and build a bridge between everyday life and travel; Conversely, the souvenirs of our trip remind us of the places and experiences of our trip. The suitcase itself can become a symbol of our memories of travel, it awakens sensations and tells us stories of the distant. My sculptures are very robust despite their delicate appearance. Dreams and reality mix in my pictures of the inner and outer worlds of human beings. Desires, dreams and longings. Remembered landscapes, dream landscapes and imaginary worlds. Bizarre, symbolical and striking a chord. A human in this world, strong and fragile. Waiting, walking, travelling, departing, arriving, alone and with others. I would like to give the viewer the opportunity to not only see the visible but to also discover their own ideas and figures in the pictures. There is space for the viewer’s own interpretations, their own story. Imagination can take flight in the pictures. --- What’s the human being like? Humans express themselves in varied ways with their contradictions, mortality and in their fragility. With my sculptures I create character traits which each of us – depending on the situation – externalises and discloses; the desires and longings stay hidden and we, for the most part, are not even aware of them. Most of my sculptures are plain, pure and elegant. Restrained in their presentation. We are jovial and laid-back, vain, willful, aloof, dominant or timid. The list could go on endlessly.
