Based on the Portuguese coast near Lisbon, Helen Yakupava is a contemporary artist who practices "drawing in space" with wire. Her minimalist sculptures are a delicate dialogue between industrial material and organic form. Using black annealed wire, she hand-shapes continuous-line figures, botanical motifs, and abstract forms that capture the elegant essence of the natural world. Each piece is an exploration of simplicity, balance, and the emotional power of a single, flowing line. Grounded in natural materials, her sculptures often stand on unique, hand-collected pieces of Atlantic driftwood or on smooth, hand-poured eco-resin bases. This contrast creates a beautiful harmony—the rigid wire becomes fluid and light, while the organic base provides a tangible connection to the earth. Helen's work celebrates the tranquil beauty of imperfections and the stories told by natural objects, inviting the viewer to find art in the everyday.
