In my artistic work, I explore the concept of cold as an aesthetic language that transcends the simple climatic phenomenon, addressing it as a metaphor for emotional, psychic, and existential states. In my pieces, I seek to navigate elements that evoke reflection, introspection, and melancholy associated with cold, contrasting with the tropical and sunny vision that often dominates representations of Brazil. By manipulating visual elements that evoke this cold atmosphere—whether through neutral palettes and textures representing the landscapes of southern Brazil—I aim to create a sense of detachment and contemplation, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a space where emotions are redefined. I use wire, which becomes a symbol of the relationship with human roots, our ancestral genetic information, and the paradox of time between what is seen and what is already absent and in the past. For me, cold is not just a physical state but a profound sensory experience that invites reflection and slows down both matter and the soul. Each work seeks to capture the essence of the cold regions of southern Brazil, where distance and color neutrality find their own visual expression. Thus, I invite the viewer to experience the beauty and serenity that can emerge from the silence of the cold landscape, where quietude is, paradoxically, an invitation to profound inner discovery.
