About The Artwork
A spider holding its prey almost lovingly between its legs. I tried to work out the space inside, removing the heart of the log (also to prevent cracks). It reminds me to the skeleton-architecture of gothic cathedrals, which made the title then. The oak wood is "smoked" (treated with ammonium), the eyes painted with acrylic color.
