"The contemporary art (fine arts, to be more specific to the author’s area) needs to be friendlier to the audience and that not just means methodological and instrumental efforts to mingle with the crowds. It is mainly an effort of refraining oneself from being exceedingly individualistic in making aims, artistic language, and ways of expressions." What the author tries to create and preserve, is not just about showing uniqueness of materials used, or trendy experiment spirit. It is about recording the symbolic pieces of the moment itself—time and generation--, which are frozen and images of fossilized memories. As the society changed rapidly, so did art. And it will continue changing even more rapidly. But due to such extended leaps we took, there seems to be a big blank in the middle. The cracks that we leaped are showing up. We sort of passed by the countless beauty that could have been expressed from frozen time and shapes of the state, thinking that they are just natural flows.
