ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Unlike the majority of my artworks, which are composed of organic-wise textures, this series is inspired by the ancient cobblestones streets of Rome, the city I live in. This diptych is created by placing low parallelepipeds of various thickness and size atop a wood board. Afterward, several coats of epoxy resin are used to coat the squares, round the edges and welding the piece, then the textured surface is gilded with metal leaf (imitation silver). The leaf was then aged with jewish bitumen to obtain a warm, lived-in look. The dark bitumen collected in the recesses enhances the relief. Two final coats of varnish protect the artwork and prevents oxidation. Dimensions: cm 80 x 115 x 3.8 - inches 31 1/2 x 45 3/8 x 1 1/2 weight 5.8 kg - lb 12.78 The 2 panels can be displayed either close to each other or slightly spaced. Actual colours may vary due to photography & computer settings. The artwork is ready to hang with 2 hidden hook.

My work is deeply influenced by nature, mostly wavy, abstract forms based on what I see on wood, bark, vegetables, animal or a rock formation. I focus on a particular organic texture and I bring it in the circumscripted space of an artwork. My wall reliefs with their three-dimensionality, can be observed from multiple angles and different kinds of lighting will have different impacts on the artwork. The physical textures create patterns of variation that stimulate the sense of sight and touch. I like to create patina on metal finishes since the oxydation is always unpredictable, different and unique. I collaborate with collectors, art consultants and interior designers, creating bespoke pieces of art custom designed for each project.
