Sculpture: Steel, Glass, Lights on Steel, Glass.
This work is a hopeful reflection on self-determinism and the irrevocable act. Using a recycled I-beam as a blank canvas I spent months making exploratory drawings. Then, the choice was made and a long diagonal line was cut across the steel; defining its form and destiny; the marks of the torch left as a record of the artist’s hand. The form of the sculpture references the monumental heads of Easter Island, vigilantly watching over their long-forgotten makers.
