About The Artwork
The Crane bird is the last piece I ever made in my animal Metal Morph series, the culmination of my work, with the most engineering and complexity of all. Like a true bird it stands balanced by using its tail. The base is a piece of found concrete weighing 6,5 kg, almost twice the weight of the bird itself. The wings, neck and legs all detach from the body for ease and security of transport.
