About The Artwork
This was the first name given to the unfolding Global Financial Crisis. The work examines the role that our key financial institutions had to play in this crisis. Poor mortgages were bundled with some good mortgages. They were triple A rated by the rating agencies and then on sold to small investors not realising the precocious nature of what they had just invested in. The financial institutions bundled up these investments as if it were just another fast moving consumable product, available on the shelf of your local supermarket. The financial institutions selling these financial products then bet against them to fail. How badly was trust compromised and lost?
