Steel & Solid Optical Glass Orb. A modern outdoor or indoor sculpture. ****Important information related to my custom artwork**** Please visit the following link for complete details concerning indoor and outdoor artwork prior to and after purchasing my work... What you Need to Know Safety, Care, What to Expect & More Each Sculpture is designed and fabricated to be as safe as possible for the general public and individual collectors/customers while adhering to what I’ve designed the artwork to convey stylistically. It is not uncommon to find burs, sharp edges, or pinch points which were imperceptible during and after the completion of the artwork. Every attempt is made to correct and minimize these characteristics prior to final finish. Sculptures can weigh hundreds of pounds. Please use extreme caution when moving these pieces to their intended location. Each piece has been designed to sit on a flat, level surface. Securing and hold down tabs are designed into sculptures that require antitheft, additional safety stabilization, or for public installation. The sculptures are NOT toys, children should not play on the artwork. Children in close proximity to sculptures should be under supervision. Displaying your Art o Sculptures Displayed Indoors – Minimal long-term maintenance is required for artwork located indoors under normal climate-controlled conditions. Do not use harsh abrasives or chemicals to clean the artwork. o Sculptures Displayed Outdoors - Displaying artwork outdoors in a natural environment poses special challenges. Ferrous and nonferrous metals have unique properties and weather differently. Invariably natural oxidation will occur on unprotected areas or areas that become scratched or damaged, particularly on ferrous metal. Do not use harsh abrasives or chemicals to clean the artwork. The natural oxidation process is considered when creating a sculpture. A change in coloration or oxidation (rust color) of steel should not be alarming in certain works of art. Often, it is intended for sculptures located outdoors to adapt and wear naturally with its environment. Sculpture Care – Artwork that has a clearcoat applied over paint or raw metal requires continual preservation practices to ensure long-term protection. To protect and extend the lifetime of the finish for metal, wood, glass or stone use of appropriate waxes or protectants is recommended. In no event shall Xoteric Design be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, incidental, special consequential damages, to property or life, whatsoever arising out of or connected with the intended or unintended exhibit of artwork. If you need clarification or have questions pertaining to the Need to Know or beyond, do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your business. Chris Itsell

Originally from Arizona, Chris currently resides near Columbus, Ohio. His modern abstract sculpture work ranges from smaller intimate pieces to larger scale outdoor works for both private and public exhibitions and collections. Chris continually strives to promote his sense of exploration through the harmonious blending of materials like stone, glass, wood and acrylic. Various metals are always the foundational medium. Though, not formally educated by an art institution, a glimpse at Chris’s work reveals his innate ability to envision, design and fabricate truly one-of-a-kind artworks. He has been recognized for excellence in his medium by several venues and juried competitions, notably, in a short period of time as a professional artist beginning in 2015. In 2020, he took 2nd place for ‘The Fabric of Mortality’ from Indiana State University Whitewater Valley Art Competition as well as 2nd place for ‘Uplift’, a public outdoor sculpture in St. Joseph, MO. In 2019, he received the Metal & Glass award from the COX Fine Art Center in Columbus, OH and in 2018 a juried donation to the Columbus Museum of Art for ‘Cobalt’. Recent media coverage placed ‘War in Heaven’, an outdoor sculpture, in Phoenix Home & Garden Magazine for their 40-year celebration issue. To round out these recent accomplishments he has also exhibited work in corporate spaces and museums throughout Ohio. Chris is ambitious to land large scale works in the future demonstrating the ability to deliver statement works. With a construction background and long history as a professional pilot he knows what teamwork means, the importance of planning, and the humility to step back for critical assessment. With this in mind, Chris continues to pursue a multitude of opportunities while patiently building credentials along the way. ARTIST STATEMENT I strive to create public and private sculptures that energize stagnant space and create visual journeys through abstract design. Each piece is designed as a speed-bump for the mind, slowing us down, connecting the moment with curiosity and contemplation. The outcome is a sculpture that triggers a tangible emotional response. Balance, proportion and resolve are just a few of the key aspects which play an intrinsic role in my work. The basic foundation for sculpture work is metal, both ferrous and non-ferrous. Combining the metals alongside materials such as glass, concrete, stone or wood really give them life.
