About The Artwork

Found objects and rubbish from our contemporary lives in Co Clare (from the year 2019 only), objects and artefacts from my grandparent’s rural home spanning from 1900 to 1996. The pieces are built and secured upon antique brass trays using epoxy resin. The piece is inspired by the decline in rural life, and how the world is becoming more urbanised and unsustainable. It also illustrates the fast consumerism of modern life in contrast to the sustainable ways my grandparents chose to live.
