Die Poesie der Natur Sculpture

NONOS is the artistic collaboration of sisters Franziska and Mercedes Welte. Their work spans sculpture, wall objects, and painting, forming a unified contemporary language focused on movement, balance, and feminine presence. Emerging from initially independent artistic approaches—one rooted in sculptural form, the other in color and surface—their fusion created a practice in which form and color are inseparable. Nature serves as a structural principle rather than a motif, informing rhythm, tension, and transformation within their works. Using materials such as bronze, carbon, fiberglass, canvas, and pigments, they combines handcraft with conceptual clarity. Their works move between abstraction and figuration, emphasizing material quality, timelessness, and spatial presence. The practice is defined by a continuous process of development, resulting in coherent bodies of work that invite quiet contemplation and sustained viewing.
