About The Artwork
This piece was inspired by the buck who roamed our 300-acre farm for several years. It was created using fine glass powder fused in layers onto clear sheet glass. The top layer is the image of the buck and the bottom layer is the forest background. After creating each layer separately, they were fused together to give depth to the image. This piece took about 12 firings to complete. In the final firing I added enamel paint accents for the eye highlights. The deer is attached to the front glass of the frame so that it stands out rather than being enclosed under the frame glass. This piece comes ready for hanging with hardware and wire attached.
