Ece Afacan was born in 1985 in Ankara. She took her first ceramic classes from Prof. Tugrul Emre Feyzoğlu at Atatürk Cultural Center when she was thirteen years old. At that age, she made pieces designed by herself. In 2004, she attended the entrance examination for Hacettepe University Fine Arts Faculty. She was one of the fifteen best students in the drawing exam. She entered the ceramic glass department as the first. In 2008, she graduated as the first in the department and as the third at the faculty. Her drawings are published in the book of Prof. İnci San with the title “Education and Museum Seminar’’. In 2012, she worked with Vladimir Klein who is a leading artist in cold glass sculpture. In 2013, she worked with Frantisek Janak and Chad Holliday who are leading artists in kiln casting and cold glass sculpture. She opened her first exhibition on February 29th at Ankara Kuğulu Ziraat Bank Art Gallery. Her one drawing and one ceramic glass sculpture are taken by Ziraat Bank Special Collection. Summer of 2016, she was selected as a young and talented artist and got a scholarship for working with Petr Stacho sculpturing. In 2017-2018, she received six international awards in Italy. She was invited to the Venice Biennial of Nations 2018. In 2018, she was selected and displayed her artwork in fifty best artists in Roma. In 2018 her artwork was published in the best contemporary artists in the most important contemporary book in Newyork. In 2019, she was an assistant of Frantisek Janak about cold glass sculpture. She designed her fused glass bowl collection at Foci Mcga. Her fused glass bowls exhibited at Minnesota State Fair. In 2021, she made an oral presentation about “Possibilities for using dichroic glass in fusion technique” in Seres’21 V. International Ceramic, Glass, Enamel, Glaze and Paint Congress. In 2022, her four ceramic and glass artworks exhibited at the "Carrousel du Louvre- Art Shopping Expo" in Paris, France. Her two artworks exhibited at European Museum of Modern Art, MEAM with the Artio Gallery November 4th to 6th , 2022 in Barcelona, Spain. In 2023, she opened her second solo exhibition on February 6th at Ziraat Bank Ankara Kuğulu Gallery. Her one drawing and one ceramic glass sculpture are taken by Ziraat Bank Special Collection. Her one drawing and one ceramic glass sculpture exhibited at One Art Space Gallery with the Artio Gallery on July 11th to 17th 2023, in Tribeca, New York.
