ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is the third piece is my new "Extraction" series featuring exotic woods and metallic paints to create a very contrasting yet organic scene. This series explores my feelings of how mankind utilizes the natural world around him. It is in our nature to take the raw materials around us, to extract what we need, to use them to make bigger and better things that never would have existed without us. Yet it is also clearly in our nature to exploit, to over-use, to accept problems being out of sight and out of mind. We take, we mold, we create. We extract and we extrapolate, humans do a dance with the world around us and here is my contribution. Most of the pieces in my shop can be recreated, but due to the unique nature of the featured piece of macassar ebony, any recreation would need to have a new and different piece, which obviously can not be fully recreated. EASY TO HANG: each piece comes with a heavy duty hanging wire included, simply put it on a nail in a stud and enjoy! If a different hanging system is required just ask, we can do whatever you need.
