About The Artwork
Flare: "a sudden burst of fire" describes the moment of striking up a welding torch, adjusting it to a quiet blue flame, and methodically lowering it into steel. The metal pools to a bright oozy liquid and the flame pushes it around, taking orderly, flattened iron crystal lattices, rearranging them causing disorder- bridging new bridges and arches, then allowing it to harden into a new form.
