I always like to put some humour in my work. As the world population increases it gets more difficult to feed the world. In China when it's your birthday you get a big bowl of noodles for promise of a long life. The longer we all live we'll all need feeding for longer. With "Food for thought" i'm asking the question where our food will come from, but then with some fun! The golden chopsticks might be the answer!

I was born in England but have been living in Holland for 35 years. I've been working for myself as a ceramic artist for 25 years. My passion is throwing so my sculptures are also all made out of thrown pieces. I also enjoy making unusual teapots. Last year i won two prizes in China with my teapots. I get my inspiration from everywhere, from something i might have seen on the news to people waiting for a bus. I like to "use" my art for expressing an opinion, either political, environmental or whatever other random thought i might have. I also like to put some humor into the work even though it can be a serious subject. I'm hoping to make people think but with a smile on their face.
