About The Artwork
This sculpture was inspired the day I left my fiance. I quickly packed up my clothes...packed my paintings and made sure to take my big block of clay from my in home studio. I drove from Laguna beach to Palm desert crying the whole way home. I emptied my Suv...the last thing to come out of the trunk was this big block of clay. In 110 degrees weather I took the clay out side and started pounding on it and crying. Taking out the pain of the relationship on the block of clay. I pounded and pounded and pounded and this is what appeared. "From the bottom of my heart." The heart ache was unbearable and I pounded and pounded all the pain out into the clay. I thought a broken heart was going to come out of the clay...but instead it was a sculpture of me. The bust floats at an angle 18 inches vertical from the bronze base. Love love love this sculpture.
