VIEW IN MY ROOM
I'm inspired by natural forms and textures that have been eroded and worn, such as bits of rock and shells. I seek harmony in composition and color, layering painted wood that I cut with a jigsaw and hand painted silk on a canvas substrate. There is purposeful ambiguity between the materials as they blend into each other. In assembling these fragments into a realm of their own, creating a new object, I hope the viewer will be connected to a universal feeling of belonging to a larger whole.

I live and work in lovely Weehawken, NJ, a small town on the Hudson River. A lifelong artist, I studied at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and Rome, Italy. Inspired by nature, landscapes and erosion, I love organic shapes. I work intuitively and experimentally, driven by composition, color, and texture. My experiences in textile design and printmaking inform my process, showing up in the pattern, layering and composition of the work.
