GODOT Sculpture

The amount of time we spend waiting for something else. Even when we are busy with something, sometimes it is just a form of waiting it out, for something else to happen. I called this piece “Godot” referring to the theatre play - Waiting for Godot - where to characters wait for the arrival of Godot. Godot never arrives. So maybe - Godot - is waiting somewhere else, and he is in the same -predicament. Waiting. While we wait, time, opportunity all fades away… I used a wire frame for the body, build up - not completely - leaving voids. Pouring resin over the figure and pilar. Painted it thick to the point of running paint, scraped it further. All to establish the mortality a time, it’s running out, as we wait.
