Golden Bunny TV Sculpture

The Bunny TV project is an exploration into the 21st century’s ideas and esthetics of modern art with a nod towards vital social issues we currently face as a society. The eye-catching pop art appearance of this piece clashes with the roughness of it’s execution in order to translate an idea in a way that would challenge the popular perception of modern art. The sculpture is meant to unearth the question of ostensibility within the art community from the quicksand of rapidly narrowing synthetic esthetics fueled by modern technology. Having chosen the lengthy process of hand craftsmanship over smooth 3D-printing or mold-creating pushes for a more bare and vivid energy exchange between the materialized idea and the beholder. The original design of the Bunny TV brings attention to the intrusive eavesdropping nature of modern means of entertainment, as well as issues of consumer culture and clip-thinking. The Golden Bunny TV has a hand-crafted metal carcass that was covered by sculpted professional polymer clay, then painted with acrylic paints and covered with a layer of protective glaze-like crystal polish.
