ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Gravida gravitas. Variations for one theme, and the theme is nothing else but the cycle of life. CREATION: The sculpture depicts a horse and a rider, and while the horse is the symbol of male power, the rider, the woman, is the bearer of life, who carries the promise of eternity and renascence in her womb. CYCLICITY: The sculpture consists of 6 parts, the connection and relationship of these parts creates the seventh piece, the whole, or breaks it down again into its parts.

Dénes Csasznyi ( b. 1967, Yugoslavia) is an artist who lives and works in Budapest, Hungary. Bronze and resin sculpting is at the heart of his process, often combined with painting, graphics and video installation, resulting in walking not the common roads but goes in search of new path to explore. His pieces are being born from one fragment by giving space to processes and momentary impressions because by giving free rein to "the Muse", a perfect kind of wholeness can be created. In his works an essential role is played by mystery that makes the observer wonder about the latent meaning of each visual narrative.
