ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This table top sculpture of a dress was made as part of my 100 day 100 dresses project. Each sculptural dress was formed from discarded textiles and a concrete mixture. This particular dress was also painted with encaustic medium. The tree over a empty dress symbolizes the growth that occurs in silence in a woman's life. Day by day, branch by branch, a woman grows into herself.
