"Gun Lady 1" is a combination of concrete modeled on wood and was mounted on a hand-welded steel base. With a great deal of imagination and attention to detail, the artist has transformed an old gun stock into a dress, which captivates with its beautiful wood grain. The old stock of the rifle was refurbished and the lady modeled in concrete. The sculpture symbolically stands against any kind of war, no matter which living being, whether human, animal or nature. Excerpt from the "Intersport Pregenzer Magazine" 2023/2024: "In addition to sustainability, she also weaves socio-critical themes into her works. "I am against violence of any kind. About 10 years ago, I was given old, broken rifles as a gift. To give the beautiful wood a new life, I created a series of sculptures. When I started the first sketches, the war in Ukraine broke out shortly afterwards. For me, the Gun Ladies have become a symbol for peace", explains Sandra." Each work of art by the artist is unique. Sculpture for indoor use only.

« Art helps me to express myself when words are missing. It is my retreat and helps me to be with myself, to lose myself in my own world. » Sandra Brugger (*1986) lives and works in Pettneu am Arlberg and Nesselgarten near Fliess in Tyrol (Austria). In 2013, she graduated in sculpture from the College for Arts and Crafts and Design in Elbigenalp (Tyrol). In the same year, she set up her own business as a freelance artist. Brugger has taken part in 15 (inter)national sculpture symposia and her works have been exhibited nationally as well as in the USA, Germany and Italy. The subjects and themes in Brugger's works are wide-ranging and range from abstract forms to nature and people. In addition to sustainability, she also weaves socio-critical themes into her works. Brugger often models her objects from a wood paste she has developed herself, which she painstakingly produces from wood shavings and sawdust. Her unmistakable works are usually created from this basic material. Either layer by layer, alternating with acrylic paints or in combination with other materials. Working with wood paste is an intensive process, as each layer involves a long drying time. Her works are mostly made from wood paste, but also from wood, concrete and stone.
