New media art: 3D printing Borne out of introspective of worsening wealth disparity, artist adopts speculative biology to imagine biological change triggered in the underprivileged’s arm should they be continuously subjected to poor labour conditions. Hand of poverty, a 3D printed sculpture, illustrates the potential mutation that hands, arms of poor labour suffer from unregulated contact with excessive detergent due to poor labour condition which reflects worsening economic state and human rights infringed by poverty.
