About The Artwork
During this time, age 15-17, I was doing a lot of research on the crimes against "Black"/ Indigenous people throughout history. A history so beautiful, yet filled with so much trials and suffering. I was inspired, filled with pride, yet very angry. It did not help that during this time America was having a lot social issues regarding race. A very transformational time in my life none the less... I hope this piece inspires others to do research on "Black American History", not just slavery, real history, what is not being taught. (Fun Fact: It was originally suppose to be rock not water, but somebody called it water while I was in the process of making it and I decided to make it water.)
