Quiero saberlo todo. Todo, todo, todo!¨ When curiosity is alive, we’re attracted to many things; we discover many worlds. ¨I have no special talent, I am only passionately curious” -said Albert Einstein. Our brains love curiosities making subsequent learning more rewarding. This artwork explores this feeling of interest, motivation of being alive.Inspired by Einstein’s aftermath stories, like his missing brain. Did you know Einstein was cremated without his brain? Albert Einstein died in Princeton Hospital, on April 18th, 1955, the pathologist on call, a Yale educated Doctor, Thomas Harvey, quietly stole his brain, filled his head with cotton and stitched him back up. Einstein had given specific instructions to cremate his remains and scatter his ashes secretly in order to discourage idolaters. Dr. Harvey carved Einstein’s brain into 240 pieces, preserved them in two jars with celloidin and stored them in his basement. Two complete sets were saved for his own research and the rest was sent to handpicked leading pathologists of the time to help uncover the neurological underpinnings of intelligence, When Einstein’s family heard about the stolen brain, they granted permission to proceed with the investigation as long as the results were only published in scientific journals and not sensationalized. The famous beat poet,William Burroughs happened to be Dr. Harvey’s neighbor, they routinely met for drinks and shared stories about the brain. Burroughs bragged he could have his slice of Einstein’s brain any day. Unfortunately, Einstein’s brain has not led to any profound discoveries about what might make a person predisposed to intelligence. Dr. Harvey’s curiosity kept his brain active and his body in shape for 94 years, half of them moving across the US with the genius brain in a jar,. This risky educated doctor ended up working in a plastic factory to pay the bills and never even thought of selling his troublesome cargo. He waited half of his life for exceptional differences to turn up, differences worthy of an exceptional man. I want to know everything, absolutely everything!,¨ was built from recycled materials: an amazon box, turned into a book with sculptured pages. The leather cover spells out ¨Quiero saberlo todo, todo todo todo ¨ in carved and stand out handmade letters.¨
