About the Sculptor José Miguel is an electronic engineer from Sao Paulo Brazil born in 1969. His pieces are his own creations and, until now, all the pieces produced are unique pieces. His interest in art began when he attended his primary school teacher Sebastiana's art classes at the Tenente Alípio Serpa elementary school in the city of San Pablo. In 1982, at the age of 12, his wooden sculpture representing Santos Dumond and his 14-Bis plane won first place in the art competition promoted by the São Paulo state government and Embraer. Unfortunately, a photo of this sculpture is not available. A year later, he painted a horse in Nanquim. This image remained for many years in the room of Ana Maria do Rosário, the director of this school. The sculptor's mother, María Luiza, received this painting from the school when Ana María retired. This painting is now in the sculptor's collection. In recent years the sculptor has worked in the Telecommunications / IT industries and since 2014 he decided to spend more time on his metal sculptures. His inspiration comes from his loving family, Keyla, and his children, Theo and Sophia. Jose Miguel also loves flamenco guitar and was lucky enough to meet Paco de Lucía (1947-2014) during one of his concerts in Brazil.
