This is a philosophical joke. The Greek myth told that the world was supported by Atlas. But what supported Atlas? one philosopher asked. The reply. "Atlas stands on a turtle." "And what supports the turtle?" "Another turtle. And it's turtles all the way down." This sculpture is a modular construction upon a steel pole in the center. It is easily disassembled and reassembled for packing.

Born in NYC-1949. Studied film at Northwestern University. Works in various mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, music, and video. Also has worked in collaboration with his wife, Yonnah Ben Levy, for more than 30 years (see Saatchi's Bezalel Levy and Yonnah Ben Levy sites). Together they have exhibited widely in the U.S., England, and Israel including several museum shows and public collections. He and his wife run an art center in Stanwood, WA and have had a home in the ancient city of Ashkelon, Israel for more than 30 years.
