ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Bird walking "Josepha" is created with welded-steel, freely style. I like to give my sculptures a sense of humour with kindness.

JL Lacroix is featured at Hotel Drouot Auctions in Paris since 2010 and is a member of the Taylor Foundation. The artist has developed a keen sense for abstraction "to free himself from the useless, a thrilling path to inner cleaning" he says while scratching colors to achieve the intended effects. Renowned art fairs such as Lille Art Fair & Sm’Art exhibited his sculptures, represented by Galerie Maison Dauphine, Aix-en-Provence (France). His symbolic sculptures illustrate people as they are, endearing and often funny. Some of the Artist’s commissions included creating furniture for Le Grand Hotel at Le Touquet; a ceiling light for a private customer; Sniff MK2 for a Londoner collector and numerous Mail-Art for Parisian galleries and cities in Australia, USA, Europe & Russia. Jean-Luc Lacroix studied Fine Arts in Paris and lives near the French capital. He worked on themes inspired by music and cogs for art dealers, and explores 3D using steel, wood and polyester putty. Writings on his work with the courtesy of Maison Dauphine Gallery: "JL Lacroix or the art that repairs" One recognizes a genuine creator, because his style, his brand, his signature are a permanent rewriting of his history and of the highlights of his life. The artist is a poet who likes to thwart the rhyme: lock with sculpture, pulley and embroidery, nail wheel lock nut... gem! His talent in the art of recovery and his imagination in the creative reconstruction are surprising. A chair or a console in the sculptured design gives the tray of a pedal assembly the elegance of lace, a fifth wheel as a small pedestal table makes it a beautiful set to pulleys and cranks... But the effect of his work would be incomplete if it did not emphasize the humor that runs through each part: a phantasmagoric bestiary or realistic vain brightenes his work, as well as suggestive names like "Hangover sewer", "Urlub " or "Brutus". Recovery Art is a sign of our times. His great-grandfather was a "collector", at times a scrapper, slasher, junkman, and antiquarian. He had also been a horseshoer. "I was very impressed by all that junk he was amassing.
