Alligator skull replica with buffalo horns at the neck with 40.000 high-quality Swarovski crystals in natural greenish colors set by hand and with a designer signature coin. „The Grace of the Unknown “ is an art project by German artist MARINA DELLA PREDA. The artist created various creature sculptures by combining elements of different formerly living animals and thereby creating a fascinating world of new mystic, distinct creatures. They document the beauty and connection with nature and are a symbol of evolution. Each sculpture tells its own story. Therefore the artwork exudes a natural persuasive force and charisma - a unique personality. The mystical creatures form entirely new species that have never existed but could nevertheless live in a phantasy world or in earlier times. The sculptures are recreations of animal trophies that could exist on other worlds. Every sculpture derives from a clearly recognizable original species but has additional features that tell it apart from everything mankind knows or has seen so far. Through their presence alone, these creatures inspire fantasy, poetry, and wonder. The use of high-quality Swarovski Elements is the recurring theme in all my artwork. Light is one of the essentials of our existence. Nowhere is beauty set better in the scene than in nature itself. The light of life is self-evident and seems so simple and obvious, and the more you approach it, the more interesting it becomes. The structures and colors always change depending on the light and the position of the beholder. An opportunity to freeze that moment of beauty and strength. The crystals bring these graceful and powerful creations to life. It is a reflection of the beauty of nature and our obligation to preserve it. By using natural materials, the artist produces an all-encompassing new whole existence. The intricate craftsmanship speaks for itself.

Winner of the Global Art Awards Tokyo 2021! Evolution and the associated selection and mutation fascinates me. Existence itself, the struggle for life, and adaptation to the environment is the theme I unite in my art. I'm spending a lot of time searching for rare original specimens, bone and skull find as the basis for my sculptures. Then I begin to unite the animal world, imagination, and their enemies in art. With the soul gone, the body becomes just an ornament. These objects are reshaped, transformed, and brought back to life, to regain their place as a symbol of the beauty of nature. In the unusual crossings and expressions, the hybrid creatures get their surreal features. I create my vision of how living beings and nature - develop under different environmental conditions - creating a fascinating, mystical world. Light is one of the essential elements of my art. Therefore I combine elaborate craftsmanship with the highest quality materials. Each sculpture is embellished with up to 40.000 Swarovski crystals which are the recurring theme in all my artwork. The crystals create a unique, intriguing presence for each piece adding the dimension of light as one of the essentials of our being: the material to create matter. It elicits millions of facets in a single beam of light. Nowhere is beauty better set in the scene than in nature. I love the aesthetics of nature and playing with light to highlight its beauty, its complexity, and finding beauty in the darkness and the shadows. I like the notion of making the unseen, seen. With my sculptures I’ve been experimenting with the patterns and textures found within the natural world, combining scale and context to create new species that, while being wholly grounded in reality, feel other-worldly.
