About The Artwork

This bronze sculpture on a granite pedestal captures that unique moment when a karate fighter prepares for a leg kick. In a real karate fight, exactly this pose is difficult to see with the eye, because the fighter is only in it for a fraction of a second. The karate fighter - like most of my sports sculptures - is a stoppage of time and movement in the most typical moment for the given sport, because it immortalizes the microscopic time periods of the dynamics of movement into an eternal and unchanging static form. The sculpture is suitable not only for fans of karate and martial arts, but as a symbol of balance and preparedness for anyone who wants to always be ready for the pitfalls of life and at the same time maintain inner and outer peace and stability.

I was born in 1990 in Budapest. As a small child, I hung out in the studio of my father - the prominent Hungarian sculptor Erno Toth. As a schoolboy, I already actively helped him in modeling and casting his sculptures. Between 2008 and 2010, I studied biology at the University of Szeged. However, my desire to realize my creative potential was stronger, so I still graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Painting and became a professional artist. The motifs of my sculptural works are still diverse. In my sculptures, I like to capture dynamic moments and characteristic poses of athletes, animals, and birds. I try to immortalize a dynamic moment of movement into a static bronze form. However, my figurative work is also inspired by philosophical, mythological, literary or film subjects. I had about two dozen individual exhibitions or joint exhibitions with my father in Hungary and in several European countries. Perhaps hundreds of my works are already in the hands of collectors on all continents.
