SHIPPING AND RETURNS

L’ÈRE DU VIDE This work explores both fullness and emptiness, as well as variations around a single form. The central panel serves as the starting point of the piece. I intentionally shaped the solid forms to be irregular and imperfect, but above all, I focused on the negative spaces between them....

ABOUT ME I've always had a deep, almost instinctive love for wood. It captivates all my senses—the endless variations in color, the unique grain patterns, the unexpected textures, and that unmistakable scent. This connection goes back to my earliest childhood. My parents were passionate about marquetry, especially in furniture, and spent hours in auction houses hunting for rare pieces. They passed on their appreciation for craftsmanship and beauty. Both inventive and hands-on, they welcomed me into their workshop—a treasure trove of tools and materials that felt like a modern-day Aladdin’s cave. I would wander through it, fascinated by this world of creation. After business school, I moved to India, drawn by an irresistible urge to experience its vibrant culture—an intoxicating mix of colors, noise, movement, and chaos. The experience completely shifted my perspective. I found a striking contrast between the exhilarating madness of India and the more restrained, classical world I had grown up in. It forced me to step outside my comfort zone and rethink my path. Returning to France, I spent over a decade developing concepts and products for luxury brands. Then, in 2018, a life-altering event forced me to rethink everything. I went through several difficult years, deconstructing my life in order to rebuild it. I left my corporate job, joined a start-up, and at the same time, enrolled at École Boulle to study cabinetmaking. There, I discovered contemporary marquetry—assembling different woods to create images—an art form that immediately resonated with me. I still had a few remnants from my early experiments. I began cutting, layering, and piecing them together, creating a strikingly graphic composition. I hung it on a wall in my apartment, illuminating it with a bare bulb to enhance its depth. That piece became my first illuminated wall sculpture. Over time, my passion evolved, enriched by an ever-expanding palette of colors. A few years later, I could no longer ignore the pull of artistic creation. I left my job, set up my studio, and devoted myself entirely to my craft. ARTISTIC APPROACH I’ve always been drawn to intricate spaces—to hidden corners and unexpected contrasts, but also to the richness of clutter and accumulation. I much prefer the wild, organic charm of an English garden to the strict symmetry of a French one. This fascination with complexity and abundance defines my artistic approach.
