This wood sculpture made up of soothing earth tones, light blues, tans, whites, and a little gold was inspired by the internationally known Master Wood Carver Glenn Lucas from Ireland. Creating these sculptures is very time consuming. In each sculpture I incorporate Lucas' natural wood shavings that have fallen to the floor and have been “LOST” or discarded. I “FOUND” them and gave them the purpose of creating something beautiful. These sculptures are so unique and definitely a conversation starter. They are full of texture and details. The soft curves of the hand curled wooden reeds are so aesthetically pleasing to look at. I hope when you look at my sculpture you will feel energized, full of life, and full of wonder. This piece is ready to hang and will add a "wow" factor to any room. Disclaimer: Upon delivery, due to shipping and packaging a few spirals may become detached but will not take away from the overall composition of the piece. It is sprayed with a UV protective spray but not recommended to be hung in direct sunlight.

Karmin Schafer Hansen has been a professional artist since 1995. She lives in New York, USA. She has her BFA in painting from Syracuse University. Recently her direction has changed from painting into creating beautiful, energetic, wood sculptures bursting with color. They are called the “LOST and FOUND” series. They were inspired by watching wood shaving fall to the floor while a wood carver was working on his lathe. Karmin “found” those wood shavings that were “lost” on the floor and made them into something beautiful. From being “lost” to being “found”. Karmin invented this new unique style of art. She hand curls each piece of wood one by one that you see in her sculptures and hand builds her sculptures one spiral at a time. Karmin is always experimenting with new styles and new materials. Karmin’s desire is to continue creating her “LOST and FOUND” sculptures on a bigger scale and one day she hopes to create a huge outdoor “LOST and FOUND” sculpture made of metal.
