The free-standing sculpture is a culmination of the previous works in the series. The wrapping line is tightly amassed together and others it is rarely overlapping. The internal light source is contained and spills out of these sections. The single line weaves around concluding at a distinct point with intention. The title Lets Meet Back Here, reflects this seeming impossibility, and draws the audience in to investigate. The curving form unravels and is supported by the remanence. The outer layers of sculptor appear as shadow that produce a shell against the emerging volume of light. The form weighs against itself appearing to fall over. The individual line races across the piece to reach its destination while the structure and position give a sense that the object is peril.

I grew up in or near the water all my life, and sailing has been one of my greatest dedications. The fluid forms in many of my sculptures derive from the wind and water. My work connects to these natural elements and my career as a craftsman. From an early age, I built furniture and anything else I could with the materials at hand. It wasn’t until college that I began to test the boundaries of my abilities. At the University of Pennsylvania, I developed a passion for sculpture and furniture. However, at the time I was not capable of making the art I wanted. After college I returned to my passion for the water with a new purpose of gaining the abilities necessary to create. I attended the International Yacht Restoration School for traditional wooden boats and for the next ten years I honed my skills as a professional boatbuilder, maker and teacher. My background can be seen throughout my art. A high level of craftsmanship coupled with my continued exploration of techniques and materials connects my art to its origins as craft. I treat every aspect as an opportunity to highlight each individual component. From processes derived in boatbuilding to expanding the potential for overlooked materials, my work marks every stage of my evolving practice. Every piece is carefully crafted with the intention to inspire others to discover their own abilities.
