ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Life of the birch" is a complex wood sculpture, which I created from on piece of a birch trunk. It has a dynamical organic complex shape. There parts as whirls, penetrations, and other interesting parts. For me the sculpture is a piece of transformed nature. The wood is treated with oil. The sculpture is fixed on a steel plate.

First I wanted to become a scientist but than I studied fine arts. I'm working as a sculpor and painter but sometimes there are also land-art projects. I'm teaching at a small artschool for young people at Donaueschingen. My artworks seems to be abstract, but there is a inspirition from nature. I'm often on the way observing their colors and shapes Also mathematics and music plays an important role. Sometimes I use wood and stones to make improvised music.
