ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I find the form and texture of milkweed pods so interesting. The inside is smooth as silk and the outside is very rough. In this pod the seeds have blown away exposing the sinuous form that held then in place while they dried. The patina on this bronze sculpture is actually acrylic paint sealed with lacquer to mimic the actual coloration of a dried milkweed pod.
