Minotaur Sculpture

The Minotaur is a coated resin artwork, the sculpture maybe rappresents one amongst the most known fanta- stic creatures of the ancient world. The mythological subject is the primary material for the author’s artistic production that sees their own cultural roots and maybe the roots of the entire southern european culture in the myth. The starting point is almost always linked to the great Greek tradition that exposes the author’s in- trospective exploration; it’s long condensation of thoughts is very common with the anthropological and eth- nological exploration. The work wants to rappresent a state of human bestialty in which the subject reconizes within himself and at the same time exposes it without any filters. The wide gesture is a sort of body expres- sion that tells the viewers what follows: “this is how i am and what i rappresent”; a conscious moment that enhances the beast itself yet doesn’t eliminate the miserable and unworthiness condition in which he faces the tragedy of existence and daily resisting oneself. For the author: the work itself is one of many faces, of many symbols that might emerge during their self artsitc exploration and for this reason many themes such as the metamorpfosis are created trying to give as many symbols of the same reflection as possible which however never places itself as final and asbolute.
