About The Artwork
Built during lockdown, this piece depicts a flying tugboat, cobbled together from lost and found materials. Allowing the piece to grow organically, it was inspired by the concept of scrap merchants and flying vessels depicted in fantasy art by artists such as Ian McQue and Ralph McQuarrie, it has a run down 'lived in' look, and was a step towards using a limited range of recycled materials during lockdown.
