Mr.Hopps Sculpture

This floppy-eared rabbit is all decked out in his finest gears. He is made from a vintage fishing float, a foam ball, decoupaged with tissue paper, a broken watch, vintage nails, acrylic paint, tacks, old jewelry chain, alarm clock pieces, and assorted wires. When creating this sculpture thought of a lot of things. The vintage fishing floats I used for the body, how they were used to catch fish for the fisherman and his family. I think about the tissue paper I used and how that helps a small business maybe stay afloat. Old watches, and gears how they may have helped someone stay on time in their daily life. I think about the past of each of the items that I have used and how they will come together to be part of another story. Past meeting present to become a future story.
