Hélène Jacubowitz was born in Antwerp in 1952. She grew up in an artistically-minded milieu: her father is a goldsmith and her brother is a famous jewel designer. At a very young age she became acquainted with the handling of metal. From her father she inherits her passion for perfection. She has studied with Petr Schlosser and afterwards with Ruperto Urzua Chiliean sculptor, professor at the National Higher Institute for Fine Arts in her native city. She took part in national and international contests and her talent was repeatedly crowned.
