About The Artwork
Art Imitating Art. This piece is based on a painting by Craig Carlisle. "The American Hero" is a painting of a NYFD Fire-fighter produced in the days following September 11, 2001. The fireman and the hose are 2 separate pieces. The hose is specifically designed to hang over the corner edge of a protruding shelf or pedestal. Copper wire, copper sheet metal, copper tubing, spray truck bed liner and spray paint make up the material used on this piece.
