ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This piece is the closest I have come to capturing the essence of stillness. Stillness is the absence of movement or sound, a place where we might touch our ancient selves. The floating ovals form a weightless ballast, to stabilize the ethereal vessel. The substrate is the backside of a vintage shop sign, cut across diagonally. The two central elements are slices of a hand carved toy boat. The union of an ancient fossil form and worn wood are the perfect elements to conjure stillness. ‘Nautilus’ pays homage to the Nautilus mollusk, a ‘living fossil’ whose shell formation can be described as a logarithmic spiral of exquisite design and ingenious function.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

Being an artist was a given in my family, one in which my mother and grandfather were both committed artists. I spent every summer of my youth on the shores of Bois Blanc Island, a pristine jewel that would eventually inform and inspire my work. Currently I am focusing on wooden assemblages which are constructed of various woods and found objects. They are in preparation for three upcoming invitational shows.
