About The Artwork
Nereus was a Greek God who was also called the "Old Man of the Sea". He was capable of changing shape, filled with wisdom and was known to help sailors cross the waters safely. This piece of Juniper was perfect for making him half whale and half man. No one quite knows what shapes he took. The stained glass base represents the sunlight penetrating the green waters.
