I was born in Athens and grew up in Brussels and West London where I now live. At the age of 5 I went to a religious school in Brussels where the teachers didn't speak English. I couldn't understand French at the time so the visual language of drawing and painting were my only means of communication. Since then art has been a constant in my life. The full spectrum of Nature inspires me to create, from plasma and protein to prehistoric life, trees, animals and humans; I'm fascinated by forms of social, cultural and historical interactions and strive to capture these concepts in my work. When I create art, I try to listen to my instincts, feelings and thoughts and let them fight it out to decide the direction of my next work. My art practice often includes ongoing themes, where ideas that were seeded in earlier works are explored and can evolve.
